Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
I’m Chaitali Bangre and I work with ENIL (Radio Mirchi 98.3)..I love writing and this is what I love to do..My first book, “WAY TO FALL IN LOVE AND DREAMS” was published in the year 2015 and the second book, “ITNI SI BAAT” was published in the year 2017. Talking about the radio background, I had no clue as to what radio was all about..But then, it was my boss, “Anurupa” who actually taught me the ABCs of radio and how it is a powerful medium to express and be expressive..
You are working as a copywriter with the radio mirchi 98.3. So, when did you realize that you want to be a published author?
So, it was during the initial stages of my career when I started writing. Mirchi happened to me way after my first book was released..And while I was working with Mirchi, I released my 2 nd book, “ITNI SI BAAT”..Frankly speaking, writing is a continuous process that comes with no full stops, no buts and no ifs..Every day you learn, you grow and explore..Yes, writing style varies from profession to profession, but the amazing part of this profession is that you have your opinions and the right to write what you feel..As they rightly say, “A pen is mightier than a sword”..
What have you written? Give us an insight into your book(s)
Well, the first book, “WAY TO FALL IN LOVE AND DREAMS” was based upon the fact that, “Can love and dreams both go together?”..It picturized dreams, emotions, friendships and most important the presence of a strong individual who was living a life full of ups and downs..The second book, “ITNI SI BAAT”, is a book based on the real life story of a couple from Nagpur, Mrs . Mehwash Mirza (Ma’am) and Mr.Firdous Mirza (Sir) and their positivity to deal with the inter- religion taboos, by nurturing faith, respect, love and happiness in their relationships..All, I can say is that it’s a simple story with a blend of religion that had it’s own share of thick and thins..
Could you describe your journey as a writer?
This journey was and still isn’t easy..Your own people judge you for
being “YOU”…Also, there are empty vessels who make a lot of noise, but the best way to respond them is to not respond them..But being a writer, you get to change many lives..You get to tell other people’s stories through your lenses..I mean, every person sitting next to you has a story to tell..So, you just have to step in their shoes and let your words flow freely..
What is the most fulfilling part of writing? And what is the most challenging?
Like I say, giving birth to your characters is the most enjoyable process. Nurturing them and seeing them grow, gives so much satisfaction..It is like raising your own baby with so much affection and interest..I hate limitations and boundaries when it comes to writing. It is like caging your thoughts..There should be no time and word constraints because ideas can come any day, anywhere and there is no set process for its completion..
Why according to you is women mistreated and misquoted every time? Because people don’t respect a woman’s choice. Be it her professional decisions, her personal interests or her different version towards her life..Many of them have no interest in seeing a woman grow, so what they do is pull her down with their ill practices and ill sayings..That’s the only thing they can do! Everyday is a struggle, be it at her workplace or at her home..But, what ill mentalities don’t understand is that a strong woman will get hurt, will cry and will also get shattered, but the next thing she is going to do is stand up and let her work do the talking..
What is the next book that you have planned?
Haven’t sketched anything yet..But, like I say, there’s story in everything..So, let destiny decide the course of this action!
