“Offsprings” – Krishanu Banerjee’s New Poetry Anthology

“Offsprings” – Krishanu Banerjee’s New Poetry Anthology

Mr. Krishanu Banerjee is a budding bilingual writer, elementary school teacher and a poet at heart. His poetic excellence has recently seen light through newly released poetry anthology titled “Offsprings”, published by Book Squirrel Publication.

Apart from teaching Krishanu’s main obsessions are poetry, reading and writing. He is always sighted with expressive eyes as his thoughts are unique by nature. He is a dreamer who dreams of a society where art, literature and teachers will be the most valued architects.

“Offsprings” is a collection of seventy rhyming English poems of mixed genre – be it society, love, nature, death, grief or art – every aspect has found a prominent place in his poems.

To quote a line from the poem “A Small Tree”:-

“Taking the birth in time of drought
She was feeling the pain a lot.
The heat of the sun had made her slave.
Made her drooping in a death cave.”

The immersive thoughts captured in every line are bound to last for long in reader’s mind.

Another poem titled “We Are Artists” caught my attention at the very first reading. Quoting a couplet from the same poem:-
“We cannot remain silent
Seeing inequity and social injustice.”

Look at the depth of emotions captured! Such is the charm of this book – simple, direct and profound. The poet has chosen an easy language to give shape to his emotions a poetic form so that anyone can read, recite or enjoy every bit of the book. That is why he named it ‘Offsprings’ as each poem to him is like his own baby. “My effort and care to let them appear on the lap of literature is quite admirable.” – is the poet has to say about the book.
