The first list of 60 speakers has been announced and there are a few we are really looking forward to hear:
He has been a winner of some very prestigious awards like the 2001 PEN/Hemingway Award for his book The Obedient Father and also won the Folio Prize (2015) and International Dublin Literary Award (2016) for his book Family Life about an Indian immigrant family in the United States. This literary genius is not only an author a New York Times Best Book of the Year but is also a professor of creative writing at Rutgers University–Newark.
This young blood hails from Punjab and is a Canadian poet, writer, performer and illustrator. She moved to Canada when she was only four and has since written poems as not just a hobby but as means to communicate. She rose to prominence in 2014 when she self-published her book of poetry and prose titled Milk and Honeywhich sold millions of copies and was the NYT Best Seller in 2016. Her poetry is simple yet hard-hitting andsways upon the themes of love, loss, violence and feminism.

The British born American essayist and novelist has parents that hail from India giving him the Indian ancestry, which makes him very multi cultured and a travel expert. This is reflected in his writing of non-fiction. He is a frequent traveler who also given some ground breaking Ted talks. His most notable work is The Art of Stillness(2014),to stay still in an extremely fast pacing world.
