Biswajit Banerji’s ‘Happimess’ makes you laugh and think simultaneously

Biswajit Banerji’s ‘Happimess’ makes you laugh and think simultaneously

Humor is one of the least explored genres in Indian literature. We Indians have always accepted humor in different forms but not so in the form of literature. One of the reasons perhaps is the lack of quality contents in this particular genre. Author Mr. Biswajit Banerji makes a valiant attempt in presenting the reader base with a genuinely great work in the domain of humor and satire.

Interestingly, in this anthology of humorous short stories, the first write up establishes the relevance of this genre in literature and that’s such a fitting beginning. With that write up the book simply takes off and it takes the readers to roller coaster joyride. It’s such a mind-blowing ride that once a reader boards in, he or she simply can’t afford to get down. Yes! ‘Happimess’ is that unputdownable.

There are predominantly two types of humorists – firstly those who manufacture humour and secondly those who are more gifted and hence find humor and fun in daily life. Mr. Banerji belongs to the second category of talented humorists. In his book ‘Happimess’, you’ll not find a character whom you can’t relate with and herein lies the success of the author. From all these relatable characters, he had successfully squeezed out the juice of fun. What makes this book a special read is the fact that this book not just makes you laugh like a run on the mill fun book but it makes you think about certain undeniable truth of life. Hence, this book entertains you at the time of reading and engages you post reading.

So, if you are in a mess during this era of ongoing pandemic and therefore if you are looking for happiness, ‘Happimess’ by Mr. Biswajit Banerji is the solution for you. So, go ahead and grab a copy of the book this weekend to treat yourself with a fun-filled ride.
